The decisive factor regarding the lifespan of a glass shower — the fittings?

It is not only the glass thickness and the design that are decisive when it comes to quality!

Our Griesshaber glass shower fittings combine function and design

But what exactly are fittings and why do they have this name?

A historical look behind the scenes — fittings originally had the function of holding a door or gate and served as a connecting and functional element. For example, furniture made of wood or other building elements was mainly “fogged up”. Key functions include moving, closing, and securing. In addition to functionality, decoration, for example through beautiful ornamentation, was also in the foreground back then.

Over the years, the fittings developed and many decorative fittings were created, which flourished especially during the Renaissance.

With the Bauhaus style in the 20th century, the trend towards functionality declined and the fittings were once again technical and functional. Today, the fittings combine both functions, design and the main function of “actuation”.

Most Griesshaber fittings are made from solid brass and then finished to a high standard. In addition to brass, we use high-quality die-cast zinc alloys or chromium-nickel steel. However, our fittings do not only serve as visually attractive holders for the glasses. They are particularly important for the lifespan of the glass shower. Shower glazing is often compared only on the basis of its design, e.g. frameless and the glass thickness used. The decisive factor is missing: the fitting, because with its quality and ease of care, it determines the lifespan of the glass shower.

We offer various series of fittings that have various functions: The lift/lower mechanism, flush mounting and the inward and outward pendulum function.

We have summarized the advantages of the respective fittings here:

Our AdriaLine fitting series has a distinctive, modern design and has a classic pendulum function, the doors can be opened inwards and outwards. Thanks to innovative technology, all screw connections are invisible and the zero position of the doors can be adjusted.

The KaribikLine and AtlantikPlus series have flush-to-surface fitting with a lift/lower function; the delicate design makes the fittings very easy to clean. In addition, the AtlantikPlus series fittings can be used to create folding systems that are particularly space-saving in small bathrooms and showers. Our AldinaTop series is also ideal for small bathrooms. Thanks to the sliding door system, the doors are easily pushed behind the fixed parts, which is an ideal solution for a guest bathroom. The AXANAplus series combines the advantages of modern sanitary fittings: flush with the surface on the inside, as well as the pendulum and lift/lowering function.

Further details and image examples of our fittings series are summarized on our online page. There is the ideal solution for every taste and bathroom.
